Question 73: What is the Palace of Diêu Trì?
The Palace of Diêu Trì is the celestial palace beside the Lake of Diêu Trì, the place where Đức Phật Mẫu — the Holy Mother Buddha — dwells.
Bát Nương (Eighth Female Buddha) teaches about the Palace of Diêu Trì as follows:
“At the Lake of Diêu Trì there is a tower that emits Yin-light. That tower gathers the thread of Life-light from the Supreme Monad (Thái Cực), then unites Yang-light with Yin-light to form the true-spirit (chơn thần) of all beings in the Cosmos.
The Holy Mother holds the Mechanism of Creation, taking the place of the Supreme Being, receiving all Ten Heavenly Stems and joining them with the Twelve Earthly Branches to bring forth all things.
The Palace of Diêu Trì is a palace of diêu-jade beside the Lake of the Seven Treasures; there is nothing strange about it.
Jade symbolizes preciousness, and diêu is the vapor-essence condensed into substance. Thus, the Palace of Diêu Trì is the Mechanism of Creation for all spirits and all beings.”
Under the authority of the Holy Mother are the Nine Immortal Maidens (Cửu Tiên Nương), who oversee the work of spiritual education for all beings; besides them are innumerable Buddhas who tend to the work of universal salvation, foremost among whom is Đức Quan Âm Bồ Tát.
Quan Âm Bồ Tát resides at the Palace of the Southern Sea, within the Grotto of Leisure (An Nhàn Động), while the Palace of Diêu Trì is located in the Heaven of Creation (Tạo Hóa Thiên).
